The latest (and likely last, barring hotfixes) update to Power Politics IV is here. It includes, among other things, screenshotting, an in-game editor, house contingent elections, and difficulty settings. The game has been reworked from the ground up to provide for a bug-free and stable experience. Unfortunately, it seems for those of you who are using older versions of Windows, this latest version may not be capable with your computer. For this reason, I will still be leaving the older version of PPIV up for download, which will be titled the legacy edition.

The screenshot option is in the “Info & Options” menu of the game, screenshot will be saved in %localappdata%\PPIVR, along with save data. The game also automatically saves the result of elections here, too. The in-game editor is in the “Game” menu of the game and is easy to use, create new candidates or edit old ones. The very first dropdown menu that you see is how you select candidates, and then everything else from that is how you edit that candidate’s information. There is now a margins map mode, located in “Info & Options”, it’s to understand and use. There are more additions to the game, but I’ll leave that up to you to discover.

In addition, I will be releasing the source code of the game for free, no strings attached. It’s all under the Creative Commons Zero license, so feel free to do whatever you like with it. I hope you enjoy this new update. Happy politicking!
